I am a 50-year old woman, married to my second husband named Bill, have three children (Andy: graduated from ASU 5/08; Jonathan a junior at Miami University and Laura graduating from Pinnacle High School 5/08 and starts Dickinson College in 8/08) and a 8-month old Golden Retriever puppy named Wrigley.
I worked for a decade at a great Real Estate Development Company as a Project and General Manager, then choose to leave my career to pursue several volunteer positions all having some sort of connection to my daughter (VP of Fundraising at her high school, President of the Phoenix Cotillion, etc) for the past four years. This spring, all of my volunteer responsibilities are ending.
This chapter of my life is definitely over. I have thoroughly enjoyed the work I have done and the people I have met as much as I had enjoyed working in the real estate development office. However, neither seems appropriate for my life now. For the first time in my life, I have no idea what I want to do. I know I can FILL UP my life with activities, but as I write to you, I just cannot put my finger on what IT should be.
To be honest, I am a little scared and I am looking forward to guidance and suggestions from my readers. I plan to use my blog to let off a little steam, poking a whole lot of fun at this predicament and stage in my life. The one thing that seems to remain constant in my life is humor and the funny thoughts that run though my head, albeit a little less quickly than in the past and the love and care I have for life and the important family and friends surrounding me.
The outcome can only be something quite unique. My nice nest is a place we all can go for comfort and a little laughter, too!
